Coach Sutton Term'd Limericks

Holder fired Coach Sutton.
Was he mad at his own puttin'?
Sean looked ill on the bench
The game was a cinch.
At misery, Sean was a glutton.

T Boone's in the hunt for a coach
In Lawrence, he looks to encroach
Throwing cash at Coach Self
To be his hoops elf
He'll have to go elsewhere to poach.

My apologies, I coulnd't get Boone and clip of the roach into that rhyme.

Sutton Tired of NIT

Nice note in the Stillwater News that Sean Sutton is tired of the NIT. Somehow I don't think he's the only one. Next year I think he's banking on the College Basketball Invitational.

Swept By Sooners

The Sooners had to play hurt
The Cowboys played lie dirt
The Pokes spit the bit
And couldn't hit ----
Eaton can now eat dessert

We're Number 1!

The Boone State athletic programs have been down recently, but hope springs eternal. Today, Orson Swindle issued his latest Fulmer Cup rankings and the Pokes are #1. A big thank you to Brandon Pettigrew, who announced last week he was returning for his senior year. ALLEGEDLY, Mr. Pettigrew started preparation for spring ball a bit early, was practicing his blocking technique on one of Stillwater's finest. The old school, elbow out blocking technique led to a felony charge of assault and battery on a police officer, which is a cherry on the top of the public intoxication charge that started things.

This is a good sign for the program. Clearly, the Pokes are starting to be more aggressive and this will surely lead to a good 2008. Coach Gundy was unavailable for comment, but sources inside the program indicate Coach Gundy said, "It's not a big deal, it's only a police officer. It's not like it's an underage girl or anything."

Cowgirls Beat the Sooner Women

Cowgirls beat the Sooners in hoops
The earrings they wear have no loops
The Crimson and Cream
Girls' basketball team
Played like they were coached by Bob Stoops

He's a Man! And Eligible for Social Security!

from the notes of the Insight Bowl...

While players and coaches were milling around on the field following the game but before the trophy presentation, Ray Gundy, the father of Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy, was walking around with one of Coach Gundy’s young sons on his hip. He came over to a group of media members and unleashed a profanity-laced tirade at one male columnist that concluded with, “Print that in your f****** paper!”

The cool thing is he's passing this onto future generations with the grandkids.

Note to Stoops: Keep Cale away from the microphone.
